Visual kei inspired gothic aristocrat make up tutorial with kuro tomesode

Hello sweethearts! :3

I hope that everyone is doing well. Thank you for everyone for all the support recently now when I have been really sick. *many big hugs*

As 13th of March was my birthday, I decided to to treat myself by editing the video that I filmed the day before that for my birthday celebration. I had been planning an outfit of this kind for some time already and I was finally able to try my kuro tomesode on as well! :3 I hope you enjoy the video and, as always, concrit will be highly appreciated.

Please read the video description about the kimono. I got so many lovely messages from worried people that thought that I didn't know how kuro tomesode is traditionally worn. Thank you everyone, for being so thoughtful! <3

(*lick*)

We also had a trip to Paris to see Kaya live which why me and my friends decided to go sightseeing and ended up playing at Notre Dame, hmm:

Here is also one drawing made by an even lovelier and talented person who asked for my permission on tumblr (click here to my tumblr) to use my photos for drawing. Thank you! It's an honor (click here to raka-raka's tumblr):

Here's also an outfit from last Christmas that I forgot to post before:

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful week! <3

Many hugs and best wishes,
Iira (who is always too busy :'3)

Our trip to Paris in February, Rosa Nitida customer review, outfits, "friend art"

Hello there!

First of all, thank you for following my blog and for all the interest towards my work. It's more than enough for me to hear that the people I have made items to have liked the results of my work. Please feel free to read a very good review about a pirae lolita hat that I made as a commission for Anne: CLICK HERE
Thank you Anne for this sweet and very detailed review and for giving me the permission to link it on Rosa Nitida! <3

Me and my boyfriend had a short trip to Paris a while ago although I'm having a trip there again next weekend to see Kaya performing live. I can't wait! Not to mention that I will meet with some of my friends and visit several places such as "Princess Crepe", Harajuku store and BABY's store during the trip again.

Our trip was mainly for relaxation, so I asked if Heylika would be able to arrange a small meeting with couple of people. She was so kind that asked few people to participate for lunch and a trip to the beautiful Paris Aquarium! We had a lot of fun and it was really nice to make new friends again. <3
I also got this beautiful heartshaped box full of chocolate and colourful fruit shaped almond paste sweets as a gift from the girls. I took photos of these, but can't upload them from the camera yet. I'll post the photos later, for sure - btw, I ate all the chocolates and almond paste already, haha. Omnom!~

Unfortunately, our camera stopped working for a reason or another during the trip, so the amount of photos ended up being less than I planned. However, I have couple of nice shots to share with you once again.

I will also post couple of photos of my daily outfits that I was supposed to share with you a long time ago already although most of the friends of mine must have seen these on my Facebook already.

Plus, here's the original version of the drawing that was made by a lovely artist "anka" who is currently located in New York. I wish I was that pretty in real life, haha. :'D Thank you very much for this lovely gift! We framed it and put it on the wall - it's absolutely beautiful.

So, here are the photos that we took during our trip. Thank you for Camille Tkm for taking some of the photos!

(If you were wondering where I got the idea for the hair accessory, please feel free to check out the traditional Chinese Han Dynasty hair accessory: CLICK HERE and Lord of the Rings' Elves: CLICK HERE)

(I absolutely hate cars. As I have stated before, they aren't only an environmental threat, but they also keep ruining the beautiful scenery and my pics! >:E)

We very rarely take any photos with my boyfriend although I have these great ideas of a bit more "artistic" photos that we could take together sometime. He doesn't seem to be very excited about those, though, haha. As you can see, I'm a lot taller than my boyfriend and bigger in every way too as he is the skinniest person I have ever met in my life, really. However, it's not the looks or age that matter (yes, he is a lot older than I), but I love and respect him for being the kind and caring person that he is. And as you can imagine, he doesn't love me because of my looks either. There aren't that many men that would have the balls to date a women that are over 10cm taller than they are. Not to mention that my head is bigger than his, LOL.

The travel outfit - I wish I took more photos of it as it was so warm and comfortable.

And because in France food is so good that I almost cried when eating the snail soup. It was beyond this world, believe me. <3 *drools at the thought of the soup*

Scorpions covered with chocolate, anyone? <3

Or how about Tequila lollipops with real worms inside? O.o

And here are some of the outfits that I had the chance to take photos of. I wear lolita and aristocrat very often, but I rarely have the time to take any good quality photos although we have a good camera, so I need to apologize for the horrible cellphone quality. Notice that there are some photos of more than casual outfits.

This was my more or less horrible Halloween outfit. I must say that I don't prefer cutesy colours on myself. And you know, just lately it seems like people are getting into this really EXTREMELY girly and colourful styles while my own personal style gets more masculine. O.o

This photo was taken by one of my dearest friends that I have had the honor to know ever since we were on third grade in elementary school. <3 Thank you, Ninni!

I finally found myself good quality and comfortable shoes that I can wear while travelling: New Rocks (and yes, I'm wearing PVC pants... xD)

At my favourite cafeteria, Cafe Chappel, in Helsinki:

Okay, well, that was it, I guess. Please feel free to comment, give constructive critisism and ask me about anything. I try my best to find the time to answer all the comments as soon as possible. :)

For now, off to do commissions that is!

Many hugs,
Iira

Two casual outfits and a tumblr

(This photo and the expression I have are absolutely priceless - I honestly have no idea when and how I took a picture like this, but it has certainly made me laugh. I hope that you would fin it funny as well, in a way or another.)

Hello and sorry for the late update - I now give you a reason to spank me mentally, not too hard, though. Just so that I learn how to update every week.

However for my defence, I got to admit that travelling is stressful - it's a
lot of fun, but stressful too. I will write more about the trip to Germany, Berlin, later. I'm also in the middle of making a new hair and make up tutorial that is supposed to be a bit different to the others. Plus, there will be a sewing tutorial for a choker that I will sell later as well. :)

Here you go, two casual gothic outfits (one aristocrat and one lolita). I don't personally like these pics much, but this is all I have for now...

About my outfits:

The blue dress is self made, blouse off brand and otherwise I'm wearing Moitie together with vintage items.

(Blogger is messing around with me once again... Maybe I'll just change to Wordpress some day when I have time.)

Starting from today Rosa Nitida has a tumblr as well: http://rosanitida.tumblr.com/

For now I have dumped there mainly photos of myself which might first look slightly egoistic, but what my goal is that I don't have to do that later (I hate watching my own face all the time, haha) and that I could start posting only few inspirational pics (while today I posted close to 70) a day/week to make sure that I don't spam others tumblr too much. I'm really looking forward to reblog and post more photos in the future as I found out that tumblr is also a great way to store your own personal inspirations and share those with your friends. This way I will most likely find all the photos that I like easily.

Emotions for today: "Argh! I want to take more good pictures again and wear lolita/aristocrat more often! >:| *jumping around the room*"

I'm also adding few items for sale (mostly second hand brand like Moitie, off brand jackets, wigs and one item for Rosa Nitida) hopefully today or tomorrow.

I'm so running out of time here. What I also need to do is to move to a new apartment, build furniture (I quite worship IKEA now), do book keeping, do sewing, travel to Finland, Belgium and UK (London), meet with friends, study, write a lot of e-mails and letters, sleep, work at the practice and get well at some point (someone is having a high fever here). However, I will do it! There's a lot to do, but at some point, once I have finally settled down here, I can really start working and studying and really concentrate on what is important. >:3

So, I will find my way to do some book keeping and sewing now! *tatatatatta*
I'm also planning to have a trip to Japan, Tokyo, next summer. Anyone coming with me? :3

Many hugs,
Iira

Summer Darkness & video tutorial 4

Hello again, everyone!

First of all, I would like to thank all the lovely people and friends of mine that I met again here in Holland - this time in a gothic festival called Summer Darkness (http://www.summerdarkness.nl/festival/). In the evening, after the event, I was thinking that I really must be very lucky to have met such a big group of kind, polite and fun people.
This might sounds tacky, but I really am very moved of how nice people here are - I was literally in tears because of the thought.
The Dutch lolitas remind me so much of the amazing community that we have in Finland as well, so I'm definately looking forward to meet with everyone some day soon again. *many hugs*
Even the gothic church where the festival was held was undescribably amazing, almost unreal, as I haven't seen anything like that in my whole life. I would love to take more pictures there some day.

This was my outfit for Summer Darkness 2011 at Utrecht, Holland (31.7.2011).

About the outfit:
Dress, choker: self-made
Socks: Moi-même-Moitié
Coat, parasol: BABY
Shoes, roses in my hair: off brand

And here you can see the coat and parasol that were bought from Paris (BABY, the Stars Shine Bright store) - the buttons of the coat are roses and the white fabric has silver glitter string sewn all over it, so the complete look of the coat is very different to what I usually prefer. However, I love the coat a lot and even more because it was bought by my boyfriend. *kisses to him*

Here are more pictures that I took with other people. I didn't have a camera of my own with me (although I planned to take a lot of pictures), so if you would like to see more photos of the even, please got to their website (link above) where they have some good material of the lolita fashion show as well. :)
I will upload few professional photos later when I receive them.

(With the sweetes Josine. <3 I hope you like the hat that I made for you!)

With the kindest Denise who is wearing a blackxblue headdress made by me. I'm so glad of the fact that it suits her outfit. <3

Edited by other people:

More pictures coming soon! :)

And then to the video make up/hair tutorial that I filmed before the big Dutch lolita meeting in Utrecht:

I'm looking quite tired here as I didn't sleep at all the night before - I was too excited because of the meeting, haha.
If you are looking for hair extensions, I would recommand to buy those online on eBay. Here is a link to what kind of extensions I usually prefer: CLICK HERE

I will later upload more pictures of my latest sewings that I made as commissions. I was so happy to notice that the people who I made the headdresses and hats for really liked them and wear them too. I'm quite hoping to get pictures to my "client gallery" as well, so if you have any pictures that you would like to share and that include something that I have made, let me know! It would be an honour to be able to use people's photos.

Currently I have many commissions to finish, so it's not possible to take more of them for a while. However, once I have finished them, I will start with new ones/start sewing other things, so I hope if you are looking for a commission you will contact me once I announce about new commissions again. Thank you very much for having trust in my skills and for the interest towards my works. I'm truly flattered. <3

HUOM! OBS! I do take reservations for dresses and other designs starting from today, so if you want your name on the list, send me e-mail to iira.salo@suomi24.fi and tell me what you would like to reserve.

Thank you for reading, have a wonderful week and enjoy your life!

I need to take more pictures soon, but for now me goes to sewing! >:3

Many hugs,
Iira
